Cultivating community in a welcoming place.

Through empowerment and advocacy we ensure that our members and their families are able to equitably access and benefit from the resources that make all of our lives better.

In our members' words

Juan, an older man in a cap and a peach-colored shirt, smiling

Juan

Juan 64 years old and originally from Guanajuato, Mexico, has been connected with La Plaza for 39 years.

He says: La Plaza has helped me immensely. I've received support with food, groceries, vehicle repairs, and assistance to get dental care, all of which have greatly improved my quality of life. I have a strong, positive relationship with the staff because I feel at home here.

The involvement of police in various events organized by La Plaza has also changed my perception of the authorities.

Now I invite others to join this circle of support.

Daniel and Katiuska, a smiling couple, side by side

Daniel and Katiuska

Daniel and Katiuska, came here seeking a better life. In their desperate search for help, they met the coordinator of "La Plaza" at the food distribution event, and that encounter changed their lives.

La Plaza: provided them with much more than just assistance; it gave them hope and support when they needed it most. They say with gratitude: "La Plaza gave us back hope and helped us build a dignified life and we are very grateful".

Now, as volunteers, they give back with their time what they once received and ask the foundations to continue supporting La Plaza to keep helping the community.

Join this circle of support.

La plaza envisions an inclusive community where immigrants and migrants are valued, respected, and have equal opportunity. Together, we can make this vision a reality.

Since 1954, we have stood alongside migrant and immigrant farmworker families.

Our programs exist because migrant and immigrant agricultural workers experience disparities in housing, education, healthcare, social supports, and overall connections to community resources.
